I have recently returned from Quilt Market and Quilt Festival in Houston with excitement and inspiration for our wonderful world of quilts.

300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks

My newest book, 300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks, was featured at the Martingale booth and I presented a Schoolhouse presentation to shop owners showing them how the wonderful Foundation Factory program to print the foundations included with this book works. The response to this book and the new block designs has been overwhelming. I am so pleased that we are finally able to offer this for both PC and MAC OS X computers.

Royal Windsor Fabric Collection

My newest fabric collection, Royal Windsor, was also featured at the Timeless Treasures booth. It is so gratifying to see the colors and designs come together in the fabric collection and to show how it can be used in quilts. If you go to the Timeless Treasures website at http://ttfabrics.com you can see the entire collection, the shops that have ordered the fabrics to date and you can even download a free pattern that I designed featuring some of the fabrics in this collection.

Carol Doak's Foundation Paper

And along with the huge selection of new blocks, the computer program to print the foundation and the new fabric collection, the packages of Carol Doak's Foundation Paper have now filtered down to most quilt shops. The response to this paper has also been positive with everyone remarking how easy-to-use it is and how easily it comes off when the project is completed.

If you have not yet had the chance to use this paper, my offer still stands to write the word "paper" on any order you send to me and I will be happy to include a few sheets of this new paper for you to try.

Future Planned Travels

With all of these new releases, these past few months have been a busy time, but I am looking ahead to the next few months with renewed energy and excitement about the next fabric collection due out after the first of the year.

I will be traveling to Saginaw, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland before the end of the year. After the first of the year, I will be teaching at several quilt shops in the Seattle, WA area and am looking forward to the second Quilting Divas Cruise to the Caribbean toward the end of January. Living in New Hampshire (where we just received our first snow fall last evening), this cruise where I can enjoy the balmy weather and teach quilting classes in January is such a pleasure. Celebrate the Release of 300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks and the Royal Windsor Collection.

I have been trying to come up with a way to celebrate the new book and new fabric collection and I think I have come up with a fun idea. From all the mail-in orders postmarked between now and December 5 (I picked that date because it happens to be my birthday), I will pull two lucky winners. The first pull will receive a $30 gift certificate towards a future mail in order and the second pull will receive a selection of fabrics from my new Royal Windsor Collection. Good luck.
