September Newsletter 2003

The weather here in New England is beginning to have a touch of fall in the air. I love this season not only because of the gorgeous patchwork of colors found in nature, but because it inspires me to create quilt designs.

My new fabric line is expected to arrive in a couple of weeks. Yeah!!! I have already created several paper-pieced quilt designs featuring the Carol Doak Garden Path fabric from Timeless Treasures. I can hardly wait to get started on these new quilt designs using fabrics in colors and designs that I love. Unfortunately, the fabric will not arrive in time for me to make a quilt for the next column I will write for The Quilter Magazine, but I will offer one that will be published early next year.

I will also be offering free designs on my web page as well as the Timeless Treasures web page that will feature my new fabric designs.

Because I am always inspired by what you all do with my published designs, I have decided to begin a fun event. The rules are so simple:

  1. Make a project using only my new fabric line and any of my (block or quilt) designs.
  2. Email me a picture or send me a picture of your project. Please put in the subject line of your email: Garden Path Fabric and I will know it is an entry. Or you can mail me a picture at: Carol Doak, PO Box 42, Windham, NH 03087 Be sure to include your name and address with your entry.
  3. You may enter more than once to increase your odds of winning.
  4. The deadline for sending your photo will be March 1, 2004.

I will choose FIVE winners from a random drawing of the names of those who enter and they will receive two signed copies of my books. Now here is the fun part, the winners can select which books they would like to have.

The other exciting news is that I will be cruising the eastern Caribbean in January 18-25, 2004 on a fun and relaxing Quilting Diva Cruise sponsored by Quilt-Pro Systems. If you would like to escape the winter weather, take some fun classes and explore the islands, you can learn more about this cruise at the Quilt-Pro Systems web site. http://www.quiltpro.com Space is limited and the deadline to join us is September 15, 2003.

In September I will be heading to Minnesota, Montana and Oklahoma to teach and lecture. I hope to meet some of you along the way.

All the best,
Carol Doak
